THE COMMUNITY TECHNOLOGY PROJECT
Community Technology provides tailored IT services to charities, social enterprises and small businesses in south London, with an emphasis on recycled computer equipment and open source software, such as Linux. Waste electronic hardware is collected and reused for charitable projects or, if at the end of its useful life, recycled into its constituent materials in an ecologically sound fashion.
Financial health, per its FY2025 accounts
The accounts state that the charity reported a small operating profit of £4,144 for the year ended 30 April 2025, a significant improvement from the previous year's loss of £30,078. However, the charity holds net liabilities of £5,133 and explicitly admits that its current reserves are below its stated policy target of three months of operating costs. The trustees note that while the situation has improved with increased savings, the charity remains in a deficit position overall.
