LITTLE GREEN SOCK PROJECT
We alleviate child poverty in Trafford and surrounding areas by providing free, preloved clothing and essentials to families in crisis. By redistributing donations, we support over 1,000 children yearly, promoting sustainability and reducing financial strain on families. Our services also address seasonal needs and work closely with local referral partners to ensure comprehensive support.
Financial health, per its FY2025 accounts
The accounts state that the charity's unrestricted free reserves are £206,137, which significantly exceeds the trustees' stated policy target of £60,000. However, the trustees report that the charity remains dependent on securing ongoing grant funding to sustain services and meet rising demand, indicating that current reserves provide only short-term stability rather than long-term security.
What the accounts disclose
“The trustees have therefore set a target level of unrestricted free reserves of £60,000, equivalent to approximately 4.6 months of operating expenditure.”
“the charity remains dependent on securing ongoing grant funding, fundraising income and donations to sustain existing services and meet rising demand.”
