• Deadlines: The grants committee meets six times per year so it can take up to two months for an answer to your application. For that reason it is important to try to work well in advance of the project. Ideally, you should make your application in the term before you actually need the support.
• What they don’t fund: Projects already covered by other Foundation Governor grants such as music lessons and travel awards. We rarely fund students who have received substantial grants in the past. Examination fees and daily travel are exempt. Other granting bodies such as the Mary Lidstone Trust support many students as they move on to Higher Education. The Mary Lidstone Trust has specific criteria and we do not duplicate this excellent provision.
