- How to apply: The Society for Experimental Biology accepts unsolicited applications for its various grants and funding opportunities. Applicants must apply online via the 'Apply for Grants and Funding' portal, adhering to specific deadlines and eligibility criteria for each scheme, such as providing reference letters and budget outlines.
- Deadlines: Application deadlines for The Company of Biologists travel grant are 31 March, 30 June, 30 September and 31 December. The SEB Annual Conference Travel Grant deadline is 31st May 2026. Outreach Grant deadlines are 1 June and 1 October. Educational Research and Development Grant submissions are by 30 June and 31 January. Small Conference sponsorship deadlines are 1 March and 1 November.
- What they don’t fund: Research directly related to medicine is precluded as it is better funded than most biological disciplines. The Company of Biologists travel grant may not be used to pay for in-person registrations at virtual events and training courses only.
