READING AND RECREATION ROOM
Our Village Hall provides space for a wide range of activities for the people of Penruddock and district. The hall is 110 years old next year. It occupies a central position in the village. We have gained four grants and two legacies this year to continue the plan of improvements. This will form the remit of the Management Trustees looking ahead into 2015. Thank you everyone for your help.
Financial health, per its FY2024 accounts
The accounts state that the hall funds have never been in deficit since 1905 and are managed to ensure unforeseen emergency repairs can be carried out without financial deficit. The trustees report that anticipated power cost reductions of approximately 60% will enable hire charges to remain affordable. Capital projects are financed where possible by grant funding and accrued hall funds.

“The 2024 period also saw the introduction of travelling entertainment provided by 'Highlights' at reduced costs, enabling small venues such as village halls to put on shows feturing professional artists at affordable prices, to local communities. These events proved very popular and brought the community together for nights of fun and entertainment.”
