TO RELIEVE AND ASSIST EITHER GENERALLY OR INDIVIDUALLY MEMBERS OF THE FUND AND THEIR WIDOWS WIDOWERS AND DEPENDANTS, WHO ARE IN CONDITIONS OF NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS, AND SIMILARLY FORMER EMPLOYEES OF OTHER POLICE AUTHORITIES OR COMMITTEES WHO HAVE RETIRED ON PENSION OR GRATUITY, THEIR WIDOWS, WIDOWERS AND DEPENDANTS WHO RESIDE IN LINCOLNSHIRE AND ARE IN CONDITIONS OF NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS, ALL OF WHICH PERSONS ARE HEREINAFTER CALLED THE BENEFICIARIES.
