The accounts state that the charity held unrestricted reserves of £1,203 after deducting tangible fixed assets, which is below the trustees' stated policy target of six months of operating costs. Despite this shortfall, the trustees maintain a going concern basis due to substantial freehold property assets and the charity's ability to raise funds.
What the accounts disclose
“The Charity's policy on general unrestricted fund is to hold enough funds to meet at least 6 months direct and operating cost of the Islamic centre and head office.”
“Notwithstanding this, the trustees consider it appropriate to prepare the financial statements on a going concer basis. In reaching this conclusion, the trustees have taken into account the charity's substantial freehold property assets, its long history of operating under similar levels of free reserves, and its continuing ability to raise funds to support its activities.” — page 4
