THE ASSOCIATION FOR SCIENCE EDUCATION
Improving science education for all young people, primarily but not exclusively across the UK. This is achieved by supporting science educators, including trainees, teachers, technicians, initial teacher educators and others in the sector through conferences, journals and resources, curriculum and professional development programmes and contributions to research and policy debates.
Financial health, per its FY2025 accounts
The accounts state that the charity ended the year with an unrestricted surplus of £68,160 and total consolidated reserves of £264,083. The trustees acknowledge that unrestricted reserves remain low and present ongoing financial risk, noting that the financial outlook is challenging due to the end of DfE funding and declining publication sales. However, the charity has adequate resources to continue in operation for the foreseeable future, supported by a lease surrender premium and cost-saving measures.
