THE DARTMOUTH TRUST
The Dartmouth Trust is the custodian of a permanent endowment. Its task is to manage its investment portfolio for the benefit of the 3 named charities. This requires the charity to invest efficiently and commercially, producing a stable and if possible growing income for the beneficiaries. The endowment is invested in a mix of commercial and residential property and financial investments.
Financial health, per its FY2025 accounts
The accounts state that the financial statements have been prepared on a basis other than going concern due to the charity's application to convert to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and the planned transfer of all assets and liabilities to the new entity. Despite this structural change, the trustees expect operations to continue within the new entity without interruption and no adjustments to asset or liability carrying amounts were deemed necessary. The charity holds unrestricted reserves of £348,949, including a designated property repair reserve of £150,000 and a general expenditure reserve of £30,000.
