The trustees apply the income in relieving, either generally or individually, persons resident within the parish who are in a condition of need, hardship or distress.Surplus income can be applied to any charitable purpose for the benefit of the Silverton inhabitants.

The accounts state that the Trust remains in a satisfactory financial state and continues to meet the claims of the needy within the parish. The Trustees report that continuing financial restrictions and pressures mean that applications for assistance are received which the Trust has been able to meet. There are extensive plans to carry out work on properties to update and improve them.
