THE OBJECT OF THE CIO, TO BE CARRIED OUT FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT PRIMARILY IN HEREFORD AND HEREFORDSHIRE, IS:TO ADVANCE EDUCATION IN, AND APPRECIATION OF, THE ARTS BY PROMOTING PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING OF AND ENGAGEMENT WITH CONTEMPORARY AND COMMUNITY-BASED ARTISTIC PRACTICE, IN PARTICULAR THROUGH THE PRESENTATION OF EXHIBITIONS, DISPLAYS, PERFORMANCES AND FESTIVALS, AND THROUGH THE PROVISION OF WORKSHOPS, TALKS, TASTER SESSIONS AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING THE USE OF TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT EXHIBITION AND ARTS SPACES, WHICH ARE DESIGNED TO REMOVE BARRIERS TO PARTICIPATION AND ENABLE PEOPLE OF ALL AGES AND BACKGROUNDS TO ENGAGE IN LEARNING THROUGH THE ARTS.
