THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS:TO RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF VISUALLY IMPAIRED PEOPLE WHO LIVE WITHIN WEST CUMBRIA AND THE SURROUNDING AREA, BY:A) HELPING VISUALLY IMPAIRED PEOPLE OF ALL AGES TO LIVE INDEPENDENTLY;B) PROVIDING INFORMATION AND ADVICE TO VISUALLY IMPAIRED PEOPLE AND TO THEIR FAMILIES AND CARERS;C) PROVIDING VISUALLY IMPAIRED PEOPLE WITH A RANGE OF WELFARE SUPPORT, SOCIAL ACTIVITIES AND ACCESS TO SPECIALIST EQUIPMENT;D) PROMOTING AWARENESS OF SIGHT LOSS ISSUES TO ENCOURAGE INCLUSION WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY.
