THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE:THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS TO SUPPORT THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE BUDDHIST RELIGION FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC, PRIMARILY THE STUDY AND PRACTICE OF GELUGPA TIBETAN BUDDHISM IN HARMONY WITH THE TEACHINGS OF HIS HOLINESS 14TH DALAI LAMA, BY MEANS OF, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY:A) THE PROVISION OF BUDDHIST RELIGIOUS TEACHINGS, TALKS, SEMINARS, EVENTS, CONFERENCES, AND RETREATS IN THE GELUGPA TRADITION;B) PROVISION OF SPACE FOR TEACHINGS AND ACTIVITIES FROM OTHER BUDDHIST LINEAGES, OTHER RELIGIONS AND WORLDVIEWS, AND FOR SECULAR AND WELL-BEING COURSES THATARE COMPATIBLE WITH BUDDHIST ETHICS; ANDC) MAINTENANCE OF NECESSARY FACILITIES AND RESOURCES, INCLUDING BUILDINGS AND THEIR GROUNDS.
