FORDINGBRIDGE CHORAL SOCIETY
Fordingbridge Choral Society advances public education and appreciation of music through the presentation of public concerts and recitals. It promotes the practice and enjoyment of music for recreation, holding 35-40 rehearsals a year, for members to learn about music and improve their skills. 'Come and Sing' events invite potential members to make and learn about music.
Financial health, per its FY2025 accounts
The accounts state that the charity reported a surplus of £25,630 for the year, largely driven by a legacy gift and grant funding. However, the trustees note that this surplus is being used to subsidize operations and that the charity's finances will require substantial restructuring in the future unless additional income sources are secured.
What the accounts disclose
“The Committee has taken the decision to use the legacy to subsidise the regular life of the Society for the next few years, allowing also for an increase in fees paid to the Musical Director, and Accompanist. Members were reminded that the effect of this has been to postpone, and not eliminate, a future time when the Society’s finances will require substantial restructuring, unless substantial sources of additional income are found.” — page 2
