Financial health, per its FY2025 accounts
The accounts state that the charity achieved a small surplus of approximately £5,000 for the year ended 31 August 2025, with unrestricted reserves held at £68,938. The trustees identify the loss of support from Southampton City Council regarding the lease of their premises as the main risk to the club's medium to long-term future.
What the accounts disclose
“We have seen a rise in membership subscriptions from the previous year, reflecting a continued increased number of members. These paymenis form our largest income stream in a normal year.” — page 4
“The reserves held on 31st August 2025 were £68,938. The main risk the club faces is the loss of support of Southampton City Council. The premises which they provide are vital but cur lease arrangements do not provide a great deal of security of tenure and an improvement in our lease arrangements would help secure the club's medium to long term future.”
“Donations also form a good proportion of our income, much of this is from BTC Rowing Centre Ltd., a company set up by the Club to operate sales of drinks and snacks in the Clubhouse.”
