SWARTHMOOR (SOUTH WEST CUMBRIA) AREA QUAKER MEETING
Swarthmoor Area Meeting is a worshipping community of Quakers. Our resources are used to maintain our meeting houses, to support local Quakers in need, to support Quaker causes more widely and to help those in need in the wider community.
Financial health, per its FY2024 accounts
The accounts state that the Area Meeting's finances remain sound, with a free reserve of £235,432 and a recurrent surplus of £43,208. However, the trustees report concern about the future viability of the Area Meeting due to low membership numbers and an ageing pool of active Friends, noting that big changes may be required to remain viable.
