SWANSEA COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS
Swansea Community Workshops is a collection of fully equipped workshops in central Swansea which provide the opportunity for men and women to do practical projects (wood, metal, plastic, etc), and, at the same time, to acquire skills from other members. The practical projects may be for personal benefit, or making products for sale, or tasks commissioned by outside parties.
Financial health, per its FY2025 accounts
The accounts state that the charity generated a surplus of £1,686.84 with total income rising to £54,905.24, driven largely by increased studio hire and restricted grants. However, the trustees note that much of this income is restricted and not usable for general running costs, identifying the boost of unrestricted funding as a primary financial task for the coming year.
What the accounts disclose
“The risk of failure is measured by the risk of having insufficient funds to meet core costs plus a margin of safety.”
