Stories for Life records life stories face to face or remotely with those who are in the last chapter of life in a variety of settings; hospices, hospitals, care homes or in their own homes. Our biographers are specialist volunteers trained by us. Our phone service can include the recording of less formally structured conversations between family members/ friends of a different generation.
Financial health, per its FY2024 accounts
The accounts state that the charity held unrestricted reserves of £48,237 at the end of the financial year. The trustees report that they have adequate resources to support their plans and have limited expenditure to the level of incoming resources to ensure the charity can continue in operation.

“The founder who is also a trustee is due accrued fees for services supplied in 2017 to set up the charity under the provisions of the goveming document which are detailed in note 2 to the accounts. No further payments were made against the outstanding balance during 2024”
“The Charity has accrued fees of £13,200 at 31st December 2024 ( 2023 £13,200) relating to an agreed payment for services supplied at a substantial discount by the Founder, Barbara Altounyan for work undertaken in setting up the Hospice Network and volunteer training programmes. The liability remains outstanding at the date of signing the accounts. Unpaid operational expenses incurred during the initial set up phase by the Founder amounting to £ 879 are an accrued liability as at 31st December 2024 ( 2023 £879) A transaction for reward with a trustee was undertaken between the charity and the trustee Claire Ryan Carter in the sum of £3144 for a task which all of the trustees approved” — page 8
