Our aim is to enable North Somerset to move towards net zero by supporting environmental and climate focused community groups, by following our 5 key objectives - communicating, mentoring, signposting, facilitating and highlighting climate and environment related opportunities across the area and within the remit of our constitutional focus and key messages.

THE PROMOTION OF THE CONSERVATION, PROTECTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT AND PRUDENT USE OF NATURAL RESOURCES FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC IN PORTISHEAD AND BEYOND BY:A) ADVANCING EDUCATION AND RAISING AWARENESS OF CLIMATE CHANGE, RESOURCE SCARCITY, PEAK OIL AND ECONOMIC RESILIENCE;B) PROMOTING INDIVIDUAL, COMMUNITY AND ORGANISATIONAL COMMITMENT TO A REDUCTION IN CO2 EMISSIONS, ENERGY SAVING, REDUCING RELIANCE UPON CARBON EMITTING ENERGY SOURCES;C)INCREASING RESILIENCE TO RESOURCE SCARCITY;D)PROMOTING COMMUNITY GROWING SCHEMES, THUS REDUCING CARBON EXPENDED IN GROWING, MANUFACTURING, AND DISTRIBUTING FOOD
