The Botanic Gardens Community Association of volunteers was formed in 2012 to help the gardens to continue providing beautiful flora displays and other attractions which were in the process of being reduced, ended or closed by severe funding cuts.

TO MAINTAIN THE BOTANICAL GARDENS IN SOUTHPORT IN CO-OPERATION WITH THE LOCAL AUTHORITY IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION FOR THE PUBLIC AT LARGE WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE.”
