LAVENDON PAVILION PRE-SCHOOL
We are a committee run pre school taking children aged 2-4 years. We receive money from government funding, private fees paid by parents and fundraising.
Financial health, per its FY2025 accounts
The accounts state that the charity reported a net loss of £8,390.40 for the year ended 31 August 2025, resulting in negative retained earnings of £6,995.36. The trustees note that the preschool faces an unknown future due to reduced numbers, staffing challenges, and the resignation of a trustee. Reserves are held to cover three months of running costs, but the financial position has deteriorated compared to the previous year.
What the accounts disclose
“We have reserve funds to cover maternity, sick pay and if we had to close, 3 months running costs and redundancy.” — page 6
“The Preschool looking forward faces an unknown future. We have reduced numbers of children and must manage with two staff working more hours than they would like. Cover varies from promising to poor and we will need to address this next year. Recruitment of committee members is becoming more difficult as the number of children drop. A trustee has resigned during this year and has left the overall management of the preschool falling to a reduced number of volunteers. All these issues we will be seeking to address in the new academic year.”
