Financial health, per its FY2022 accounts

The accounts state that the church's finances were under significant pressure during 2022, with the treasurer noting that the church was 'on a knife edge' and nearly went 'under the operating threshold at the bank' due to reduced planned giving and rising costs. Financial stability was restored through successful fundraising efforts and a late Christmas appeal, allowing the church to meet its obligations and freeze the parish share for 2023.

So, during much of year the Church finances were on a knife edge with the treasurer expecting a problem as each month progressed. In fact, the finances were rescued by the hugely successful efforts by the fundraising teams. Then finally in November there was a problem, many invoices all arrived at once and it seemed we would go under the operating threshold at the bank. At that point we reluctantly decided that a Christmas appeal was still necessary, leading to a bounce back in Church finances in December.
