THE RETREAT ANIMAL RESCUE
The Retreat takes in unwanted, neglected, abused and sick animals and provides vet care, facilities for their rehabilitation, food, and a safe haven. We aim, where possible, to rehome animals (subject to home checks). The Retreat has volunteers who carry out the day to day care of the animals and fundraising.
Financial health, per its FY2025 accounts
The accounts state that unrestricted reserves decreased from £364,218 to £243,985, resulting in a net expenditure deficit of £123,273 for the year. The trustees report that free reserves (excluding designated lease funds) stood at £225,009, which the charity considers sufficient to cover future running costs. The charity is unincorporated and relies on an independent examiner rather than an independent audit.
