THE MANOR PREPARATORY SCHOOL TRUST
Financial health, per its FY2025 accounts
The accounts state that the charity reported a net surplus of £392,965 for the year ended 31 July 2025, driven by strong pupil numbers and cost management measures. However, the trustees note that the unrestricted funds of £5,413,051 are entirely tied up in tangible fixed assets and borrowings, resulting in no freely available reserves. The charity remains dependent on its operational income to service significant long-term bank loans and fund ongoing capital maintenance.
What the accounts disclose
“After deducting the carrying value of tangible fixed assets held for the charity’s own use, adjusted for borrowings, there were no freely available reserves. It is the Governors’ policy to build up free reserves out of annual operating surpluses, subject to the prior demands of further expenditure to equip the School with the up-to-date facilities needed to maintain the standard of educational services provided for the benefit of future pupils.”
