Reserves policy: The Board considers that the level of free reserves should be increased as circumstances permit so as to provide the flexibility needed to cover temporary shortfalls in incoming resources due to the timing differences in income flows; and adequate working capital to cover core costs to allow the School to cope and respond to unforeseen emergencies, whilst specific action plans are implemented. Building of such reserves can only realistically be viewed over the medium term and the Board is satisfied that the school remains in a financially sound position and that the present level of free reserves is satisfactory.
