QUAKER INTERNATIONAL EDUCATIONAL TRUST (QUIET)
Financial health, per its FY2025 accounts
The accounts state that the charity generated a consolidated surplus, allowing it to continue rebuilding financial strength following the severe economic crisis in Lebanon. The Trustees note that the 2025/26 budget anticipates a planned deficit, which is funded from the surplus generated in the previous year, while recognizing that fee income and staff costs need to return to a sustainable balance over time.
What the accounts disclose
“The level of free reserves at 30 September 2025 amounts to£2,250,226. This amount is the result of the calculation of the total funds of the charity minus the restricted funds and the designated tangible fixed assets that are mentioned in the paragraph below (2024 £2,252,829). This has fallen from approximately 7.5 months’ expenditure on unrestricted funds in 2024 to 6.9 months £2,252,829 and the intention is to try and increase these reserves as finances allow.” — page 12
“In our opinion, except for the possible effects of the matter described in the Basis for Qualified Opinion section of our report, the financial statements: • give a true and fair view of the state of the charitable company's affairs as at 30 September 2025 and of its incoming resources and application of resources for the year then ended; • have not been properly prepared in accordance with United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice; and • have not been prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006.” — page 15
